Become a Merit Badge Counselor
Effective January 1, 2011, all existing counselors needed to reregister to remain a counselor. If you did not do that last fall, you will need to complete a new application.
All new prospective MB Counselors have to complete the following application and CORI form to be reviewed and accepted as a counselor before starting any work with a youth.
The following documents are required to register as a Merit Badge Counselor in the Knox Trail Council (per National BSA) – Please present to Ken DeMars who will secure the appropriate signatures. Once reviewed, you will receive a letter from the Knox Trail Council with an approval or rejection.
Adult Leader Application - if you are affiliated with a unit they must sign the application
Criminal Background Statement (CBC form) – Page 2 of the Adult Leader Application.
Photocopy of your Photo ID.
Proof of Youth Protection Training within past 2 years – if in doubt, take it again online. Go to www.myscouting.org to take the on line course.
