We are experimenting with "virtual reality" with some panoramas of Maynard. Please let us know what you think!

Technical Notes:

• Your browser must be "Java-enabled" to view these panoramas properly. If your browser does not support Java, we have provided a link to the raw image which you may or may not be able to view.
• We have scaled the image sizes so each of the vistas should take less than 30 seconds to load (on a 28.8 connection). We may offer "monster pans" in the future -- let us know if that would be of interest to you. (The full-size vistas are about 0.5-1MB each!).
• Some of the images have some brightness fluctuations due to limitations in our old digital camera. We hope our upcoming vistas will be far superior in quality.
• If the vista photo does not appear after 30-40 seconds and you only have a bright green box -- try reloading the page (shift-reload on Netscape Navigator seems to be a cure-all).
• The Java applet used to display the vistas was created by Jean-Pierre Viguer. We thank him for making it it available for people to use.
